Being an ex-vancoueverite i have been lucky to live in a place with very high quality and widely varied cuisine, From the dim-sum of chinatown to yaletown’s most upscale eateries i consider myself something of a gourmand, So when i moved to La Paz my hopes werent that high that i would find gastronomic delights such as i had known back home. To put it simply, I was wrong.

Beaches in mexico are some of the finest in the world and La paz is no exception. And the local government peforms regular upkeep, Like importing quality sand, cleaning the beaches daily, and building and repairing palapa’s. Most locals and tourists opt to head to the beaches just a few minutes outside the city.

El Coromuel:
the first beach north of la paz. It is a wonderful swimming beach with a safe sandy bottom and rock and sand further out. Also a decent snorkeling beach. El Coromuel will be out of action for he 2007 beach season for all intents. The new and extravagant aquatic park has begun construction. API, the port authority is paying for the construction of the project which will include waters slides and enclosed swimming areas for the little ones.

Perched at the southern tip of the vast Baja Peninsula with a thousand miles of virtually empty desert between here and the U.S. border and surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, the new star of Mexican destinations, Baja California Sur, welcomes you.
